Bio:
An entrepreneur and energetic leader, Christopher has more than 30 years of experience in the information industry. In 1991, Christopher began his journey at Adobe Systems, where he helped launch Adobe Acrobat, promoting the use of distributing PDF on CD-ROM. In 1997, Christopher provided feasibility research for Octavo Corp, digitizing Benjamin Franklin’s Observations and Experiments on Electricity. In 1998, Christopher consulted with Stanford University on the digitization of Stanford University Press books to PDF files for potential integration into Stanford Libraries.
In 1999, he co-founded ebrary and served as its CEO until its sale. ebrary was one of the world’s first ebook providers that served libraries and publishers around the globe and was acquired by ProQuest in 2011. Building upon his experience in information systems and the experiences of several like-minded people, Christopher founded Helper Systems in 2019 to make research with digital media easier leveraging several years of R&D previously conducted by the Helper team.
