So You Want to Work at a Consortium? Hear from Library Staff Who Made the Switch Recording

Filter

Have you ever thought about working at a library consortium? Although library staff routinely collaborate with consortia on everything from professional development to technology to group licensing, this panel discussion will offer a fresh inside look at actually working for a consortium. The panelists are academic library professionals and leaders who recently switched to consortia. Representing a diverse range of consortia, panelists will engage in a structured dialogue about how to pursue consortial career opportunities, translate skills into a consortial context, navigate the transition successfully, and more. Panelists will share tips and personal experiences to help library workers and students flourish in their careers and explore alternative, consortial paths in the field of librarianship. This panel will benefit library workers at all stages of their careers and help others work more effectively with their consortial colleagues. The panel may also benefit consortial leaders who are seeking to fill job openings. Befitting the dialogue-based format, panelists will make sure to set aside time for questions and comments from the audience.
